This week I have a really cool bloggish tag that I discovered from one of my fellow authors, and it was so fun that I knew I had to dive in! I can’t say where this Three Bookish Things tag originated, so I don’t know who to give proper props to, but it’s things like this that make blogging fun.
For these I’m going to try and not pick the obvious favorites or be repetitive between authors, books, and whatnot, so there’s a little more variety. Shall we get started?

3 Weirdest Things Used as a Bookmark
This one was harder than you might think, since I rarely find myself in need of interim bookmarks. I have a favorite one I like to use, and by now the poor thing is in rough shape.

3 Series Binged
I have binged so many series, particularly in my school days. At that time, I didn’t like splitting series up and I read all of one before moving on to the next one, so nearly everything until just a few years ago was binged.

3 Favorite Book Covers
There are two kinds of book covers that I enjoy most: those that are detailed pieces of artwork in and of themselves, and those that have a more classic feel (you know, with all that filigree and whatnot. Like this one, which I haven’t read yet, or this one which I am currently working on).
3 Book Goals for this Year
- Read 40 books. Goodreads has a Reading Challenge that lets you set your own goal for books you want to read within the year. Last year my goal was 20 and I doubled it, so this year I’m aiming for 40, and so far I’m halfway there.
- Get the manuscript for the first book of Falconsbane to a ready-for-an-editor draft. I’ve been at this stage before, but then the story had a growth spurt, and I’m back in construction. I have no idea how this new development will actually go, how well it’ll be received, but even if it gets cut, writing it has helped me understand the story and plot much better.
- I feel like a cheat, since I only really have these two things, but it’s summer, and I have an understaffed job and a farmers market that eats up a lot of time and energy. I don’t think I can realistically set another bookish goal for this year ─ unless ‘reading more indie books’ counts, in which case, I have a legit three.
