As of today, we are officially two weeks into NaNo and roundabouts halfway through. Which means it’s about time for a progress report, don’t you think?
I’ll be honest. If we’re being graded on this, I don’t think I’d pass😅 As of today, I have about 4.5k of my 20k goal, which was an estimation to begin with. So, on paper, I’m less than a quarter of the way through.
That’s not to say that progress isn’t being made, though. I’ve been editing Falconsbane and brainstorming, making some headway once again. I haven’t started any new flash fictions, however. Partially because I’m short on ideas, partially because I’ve been editing others. See, last month I crunched and submitted a few before the November deadline, and I’ve received word that two of them have been accepted! When it rains, it pours, eh?
So, I’ve just finished the first round of edits on the first one and resubmitted it, and very soon I’ll have to get cracking on the second story. It’s so exciting and scary and honoring and humbling to have someone else read your work and decide to come alongside you to help make it stronger. Y’all, I’m stoked.
You know what else I’m stoked about? Positively ablaze over? The amazing Havok Story Podcast has selected one of my stories from earlier this year to add to their series! 😆 This very weekend you can listen to Sebastian and Kurt come alive on audio, and y’all, I can barely contain myself. I feel so blessed right now, so incredibly encouraged, and reminded that writing isn’t as solitary an art as many of us tend to believe.
That’s all for now, folks! Gotta get back to work😉
